Hull shows why Gove’s Govt can’t ban mobile phones in schools – Ewan McIntosh | Digital Media & Learning

Love seeing Ewan McIntosh at the ECIS IT Conference in London two years ago and have been following him ever since. This little article reminds me of our own ban on mobile phones in our MS classrooms and on our field trips. It is sad to me that we ask kids to put away their exploration-tool-of-choice when they enter the doors of our school.

On the plus side, I have been able to get students to do some photography work with their mobile phones and MP3 players outside of school. Most recently I have asked them to submit photos for sharing in class and many of them offered to take the photos with their phones or other mobile devices to send to me. Love the way they think!
